Browsing Reddit whilst at work (waiting for a file transfer) I came across a great post which I think summarises the Control Engineering field in terms of employment. I’ve only been in Control for 8 weeks but this is something I picked up on quickly. The other Control Engineers are ridiculously skilled yet they’ve told me they feel grossly underpaid. On the other hand, our Control team appears understaffed and it seems to be difficult for the company to hire new Control Engineers.
My current graduate salary is very low but I’ve been told that I’ll be compensated properly and I hope so, but it appears none of us Control Engineers are paid properly.
The comment section on the reddit post are quite good;
